I have heard it said that Mad Max has packed the FIA with people beholden to his patronage, and so they do whatever he instructs.

Many people have also declared that votes at expensive FIA meetings have become meaningless, as people who know little about motoring fly in from every country in the world to do Max's bidding, paid for by the income of the FIA, mostly from F1. Is that true?

Maybe, this is all about protecting that patronage? I don't know, can somebody explain differently?
